Parents: A packet will come home this Friday 6/21/13 for summer reading and summer math practice to be turned in to your child's 3rd grade teacher next year. Here is the note that will be attached. Thanks for such a great 2012-2013 school year!

Thank you for such a wonderful 2012-2013
school year! Your 2nd grader is now off to 3rd grade,
which requires some summer practice in the meantime. The third grade teachers will collect the
attached math packet and summaries of the summer reads listed below. Please have your child use their library card
to check these books out this summer at your local library. We are asking each student to read two
fictional literature reads and one non-fiction biography. Please
ask your librarian to help locate an age appropriate biography for your child
to indulge in this summer along with:
Fudge-a-mania by Jude Blume
Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White
Also, please
have your child work on mastering addition, subtraction and multiplication
facts using mental math this summer! Have a safe and enjoyable break!
